Summer is fast approaching and the boat is going in the water, or hopefully there already! Now is the time to inspect and repair the trailer. Here is a quick checklist:
-Make sure your
coupler, hitch and hitch ball are all the same size
-Make sure your
safety chains are proper length and secured to the trailer.
-All fasteners are properly tightened
-Wheel lug nuts are properly tightened
-Check the condition of your
winch strap and winch
-Make sure you have proper transom straps and tie downs. Your winch strap is not a tiedown!
-Check your trailer
tire condition and air pressure, and don't forget the spare
-Check to see if your
brakes are properly adjusted and in good condition (if equipped)
-Check all
lighting to insure it is all working and visible
Performing any repairs to your trailer is much easier with the boat off, and preventing any failures is always a good idea. Of course if you need any parts or item for your trailer
BargainBoatParts.com has you covered.
